So What Actually Happens in There?

The word for it is superheating, and it’s a real thing in physics, not internet nonsense. Normally water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit. You expect bubbles the second it hits that mark. But under the right conditions, water can climb past its boiling point and still just sit there as a liquid, looking perfectly ordinary. It’s hotter than boiling, but it never actually boils.

Why doesn’t it bubble? Because bubbles need somewhere to start.
