I grew up in New York City on equal parts dollar-slice pizza, street-cart pretzels, and my grandmother’s Sunday sauce. Somewhere along the way I got hooked not just on food, but on the stories tangled up in it. Who invented this? Why does that brand do it that way? What’s the one trick that makes it better?

So I started The Chef Recipe to chase down the answers. It’s where I share the easy, no-nonsense recipes I actually cook, the kitchen shortcuts I swear by, and the behind-the-scenes food stories I can’t stop digging into.
